Tickets on sale NOW for SPMS Musical: "Grease: School Version"

Do you have chills? Are they multiplying? Are you losing control? Well, you may be because the musical “GREASE: School Version” is coming to SPMS next week. Every spring, drama teacher Marion Tompkins sets out to lead a cast and crew through auditions and months of rehearsals that result in a fantastic theater experience for the students and community. This year’s production of “GREASE: School Version,” her 20th production at SPMS, is sure to please theater goers alike. Starring as Sandy and Danny are 8th graders Skyler Echard and Addison Foord, respectively. They, along with a cast and crew of over 70 middle schoolers, will bring to life a musical we’ve all come to love over the years. Tompkins reveals, “The kids make this production so terrific. Seeing it all come to life on the stage is so rewarding for them, their parents and the school. It’s going to be a fun show, one that everyone can relate to - because ‘Grease’ is such a beloved musical.”

“GREASE,” book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, first came to the stage in 1971 Chicago and made its way to the big screen in the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. SPMS’ production of “GREASE: School Version” will run Friday, April 24 thru Sunday, April 26. Friday and Saturday show times are 7:30 p.m. and Sunday’s matinee will begin at 2:30 p.m., with doors opening for all three performances 30 minutes before curtain. Tickets are available via PAYPAL, accessible through the SPMS website http://spms.spusd.net, or by printing the order form on the website and turning it into the school office.
