February 24, 2021

On Thursday, February 18, 2021, SPUSD hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new SPHS Athletics Facilities. The 15-month project, funded by Measure SP, includes a new field house, tennis courts, batting cages, bleachers for the football field and main gym, and new outdoor basketball courts. The project also includes renovations to the main and practice gyms including the entrance, locker rooms, team rooms, weight room, offices, and storage areas.
Measure SP, passed in 2016, allows for $98 million in bonds to fund necessary improvements for the schools. Every school site has seen improvements from new and modernized buildings to safer campuses.
The entire SPHS student body was able to tour the new facilities, thanks to Athletic Director Anthony Chan, the PTSA, and parent volunteer Julian Petrillo, who created this outstanding video tour of the new space. Enjoy and Go Tigers!
