Spaghetti Dinner Night on Feb. 26

Spaghetti Dinner Night, an annual event that puts the spotlight on the musical performances of the students of South Pasadena High School, will be held on Thursday, February 26. It is organized by the SPHS Music Boosters and is their big yearly fundraiser to support the SPHS Instrumental Music program. SDN showcases all the music students from Orchestra, Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band, who form their own ensembles and perform musical pieces that they have selected. The ensembles have auditioned for musical director Howard Crawford to ensure that their music is challenging and entertaining.

A popular feature of Spaghetti Dinner Night is the Silent Auction. Items for bid this year include tickets to Disneyland Resort, Dodger games, Knott’s Berry Farm, Pasadena Playhouse, and AMC Theatres as well as generous gift baskets from local merchants. Guests write their offers on the bid sheets of each item and at the end of the night the highest bid wins. You could win one night at Bissell House Bed & Breakfast, one night at Langham Huntington Pasadena, dinner at an amazing local restaurant, designer chocolates from K Chocolatier or a hot-air balloon ride.

The SPHS Music Boosters provides financial support for the music program through various fundraising activities with SDN being the largest and most important. The funds are used to help pay for supplemental instructors, music, instruments and equipment to support the students’ music activities.

Come out and show your support for the SPHS music program by enjoying a spaghetti dinner and being entertained by the SPHS student musicians!
