​St. James Schools On Lockdown In South Pasadena

St. James and Holy Family Church schools placed their schools on lockdown Wednesday morning as police searched for a suspicious person.

SOUTH PASADENA, CA — St. James and Holy Family Church schools placed their schools on lockdown Wednesday morning in South Pasadena following a report of a suspicious person in the area.

The lockdown was short lived as police quickly concluded their search.

"St. James and Holy Family Church decided to lock their schools down regarding a suspicious person in the area. Police looked for said person, but after an hour he was not found. No cause for alarm," the South Pasadena Police Department tweeted.

The lockdown began just before 11 a.m. The school notified families of the lockdown via Facebook, telling parents, "Currently HFS is on a Precautionary Lockdown do to a City Incident at a neighboring Parish. All HFS Students & Faculty as well as Pastoral Center are SAFE and the gates to the school are currently locked until Lockdown is lifted!!"
