The OKcupid vs. Mozilla CEO protest is a text-book display of ignorance and exploitation

If there is one thing that I despise more than religious fanatics trying to convert me to their belief system, it's political fanatics trying to make me conform to their political beliefs, while disrespecting and disregarding mine, in the process.

That is exactly what happened here with Brendan Eich, the now exiled CEO of Mozilla.

Let's be honest with ourselves here... I may not agree w/ Brendan's political/religious stance, but what business is it of mine, much less anyone else?

I don't care who/what you sleep with, and I sure as hell don't care who/what you vote for. Those are personal matters, and nobody else's business but your own, as far as I'm concerned.

Unfortunately, there are many unreasonable individuals in this world that will exploit a situation for personal or capital gain, and companies are just as guilty of this as any individual, religious organization, or political party.

It's pretty disgusting to witness, but it's good to be aware of, so you don't fall victim to endorsing such 3rd party agendas, unwittingly.

Thus, we have OKcupid.com, a crappy on-line dating service that pulled a crafty media stunt by encouraging Mozilla Firefox users to boycott their web browser, because of the religious-based political beliefs of the new Mozilla CEO.

Well, unfortunately, OKcupid, you're a bunch of half-asses and are completely full of shit. If you really were so self righteous and dedicated to equality, then you'd shut down your site (to all web browsers), and remove all JavaScript code from your web site.

Brendan Eich was the creator of the JavaScript scripting language. JavaScript is integrated into every single web browser, and roughly 98% of web sites around the world. Boycotting Mozilla alone bares no righteousness or political correctness. In fact, it makes you look like even bigger ignorant bigots than that of which you are protesting.

So, in the spirit of boycotting ignorant bigots, I'm encouraging all of my single, internet-dating friends, family, co-workers, and local patch readers, to boycott OKcupid.
