Unrestrained Infant Killed In San Gabriel Valley Crash

A one-month-old baby girl died Thursday morning when her mother drover into a pole in West Covina.

WEST COVINA, CA — A baby was killed in a car crash in West Covina Thursday, and her mother is recoverig from minor injuries.

The one-month-old girl was unrestrained in the front seat of the car when her mother crashed into a pole, West Covina, police said.

When emergency crews arrived on the scene at 5:16 a.m. in the 2100 block of East Cortez Street, the baby was unresponsive. The infant died a short time later at a nearby hospital.. Her 32-year-old mother, a Covina resident whose name was not released, was also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to West Covina police Lt. Travis Tibbetts.
