The City of South Pasadena has transitioned to virtual Commission meetings in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Here’s a list of upcoming meetings:

Special Planning Commission meeting
Tuesday, April 28, at 3:00 p.m.

Agendas and reports for these meetings have been posted to the City’s website. A link to the live webstream will be posted to the City’s website and social media prior to the beginning of the meeting.

The virtual meetings will adhere to the updated Brown Act provisions for public meetings set forth by the legislature in response to the COVID-19 crisis. During these meetings, the Commissioners and City staff will participate remotely. City facilities will not be open to the public in order to stop the spread of the virus.

  • ●All meetings will continue to be broadcast live on Spectrum/TWC Channel 19 and AT&T Channel 99 for cable customers who reside in the City.
  • ●Meetings will also be live streamed and available for six months on the City’s website.

Public Comments

  • Planning Commission & Cultural Heritage Commission Public Comments are accepted via email: PlanningComments@southpasadenaca.gov
    • ○Public Comments will be accepted for both the Planning and Cultural Heritage Commission Meetings from the time the agenda is posted up until 3 p.m. the day before the Meetings to allow staff time to compile and post comments prior to the meeting.
    • ○Comments will be distributed to the Commission for consideration and will be posted on the City’s website for public review.
    • ○Comments Guidelines:
  • City Council Meeting Public Comments are accepted via email: ccpubliccomment@southpasadenaca.gov
    • ○Public Comments for the Special City Council meeting must be received by 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2020 to allow staff time to compile and post comments prior to the meeting.
  • ●Subject Line: Indicate Meeting Date and Agenda Item (4/30/2020, Agenda Item #10)
  • ●Include your name and address
  • ●Public Comment in the body of the email
  • ●Comments should be in accordance with the City’s Council Statement of Civility: We treat each other, members of the public and city employees with patience, civility and courtesy as a model of the same behavior we wish to reflect in South Pasadena for the conduct of all city business and community participation.

    Applicants: for applicant participation that must provide a presentation to the Planning Commission

    • ○You will need to provide a prerecorded video/audio presentation to Staff between 72 and 56 hours prior to the meeting so the presentation can be posted on the City’s website for public review.
    • ○The presentation must be in the format of a powerpoint presentation with pre-recorded audio for autoplay and not be longer than 10 minutes.
    • ○After presentations are complete, the meeting host will call the applicant for a 5-minute response to the public comments received, and is invited to stay on the line to answer any questions from the Commission.
  • ●Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.3(a), public comment will be taken for items described on the special meeting agenda only.
  • ●Please indicate if you request for your public comment to be read at the meeting. Public Comment portion of the email is limited to 150 words.
  • ●Comments will be distributed to the City Council for consideration and will be posted on the City’s website for public review
