UPDATE: Injured Police Officer in Stable Condition

The off-duty South Pas police officer was driving a police motorcycle when he collided with a BMW sedan in Claremont Monday afternoon, according to reports.

A officer is in stable condition Tuesday after his motorcycle collided with a car in Claremont, City News Service (CNS) reported.

The officer, whose name has not yet been released, was off-duty but in uniform when his service motorcycle collided with a BMW sedan on Mt. Baldy Road near Fergus Falls as he headed home around 6:30 p.m. Monday, South Pasadena police Sgt. Craig Cooper told CNS.

The officer was airlifted to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center in
East Los Angeles and suffered injuries to both elbows, a leg and road rash on a shoulder, the sergeant said. He's being held for observation and is expected to be released sometime Tuesday.

The 18-year-old woman who drove the BMW was found to be sober after being tested for alcohol, Cooper told CNS.
