Update: Morris Gussin Court Hearing Postponed to April, Still Held at L.A. County Jail

Judge issues another continuance to review evidence.

A court hearing for former South Pasadena resident Morris Gussin is set for Wednesday, April 6, in Los Angeles, South Pasadena Detective Sergeant Jim Valencia told Patch this week.

A preliminary hearing date has yet to be set, Valencia said.

At the April 6 hearing, the judge could either issue another continuance for both the defendant and plaintiff to review evidence or set a date for a preliminary hearing.

Prior hearings were previously set for Nov. 15, 2010, and Jan. 12,  Feb. 10 and March 3 of this year.

On Oct. 28, 2010, . The judge issued the bail by making a calculation of $100,000 for each of the 16 victims involved in the case.

Gussin was arrested on Oct. 13, 2010, on 20 felony counts of grand theft and security violations. He is currently being held at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.

Gussin’s attorney, George Newhouse of Brown, White & Newhouse, has stated that his client will enter a not guilty plea.
