Website of Retailer that Sells 'El Chapo' Shirts Crashes

The men's clothing store saw its sales skyrocket after photos of the Mexican drug lord wearing not one but two of its shirts surfaced.

If the drug business doesn’t pan out, Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman Loera, a.k.a. ‘El Chapo’ can fall back on his side job -- spokesmodel for a Los Angeles-base luxury men’s wear brand.

The drug kingpin was seen wearing two of Barabas Men’s club shirts in the photos accompanying the interview by Sean Penn in Rollingstone Magazine. The company quickly seized on the opportunity to capitalize on ’El Chapo’s’ capture and featured the photos on its social media pages and website.

And using a wanted criminal as your spokesmodel apparent works. The surge caused the site to crash last night and as of 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, the site is still down.
