Women Accused of Torching a Car in Pasadena Dispute

A second woman has been arrested in the alleged arson.

PASADENA, CA -- The second of two women suspected of torching a car in Pasadena as part of a personal dispute was arrested today, authorities said.

Neither suspect's name was immediately available. The alleged arson occurred on March 19 outside a residence in the area of San Gabriel Boulevard and the Foothill (210) Freeway, according to the Pasadena Fire Department.

"It was a personal dispute where they set a 2002 Volvo on fire in front of the residence, totaling the vehicle," according to fire department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian. "The suspects were identified early on and one turned herself in earlier this week and the other was apprehended in Los Angeles earlier today."

The women allegedly used a flammable liquid to destroy the Volvo. Their arrests were the result of a joint investigation by the Pasadena police and fire departments, Derderian said.
