DALY CITY, CA — Seven people were displaced from their Daly City residence after a fire broke out Friday night.
Firefighters from the North County Fire Authority responded to the fire in the unit block of Marshall Way just before midnight and found smoke coming from the two-story house's garage and second floor.
Two vehicles in the driveway of the single-family house were also on fire, according to a statement from the North County Fire Authority.
All seven occupants safely evacuated and a search by firefighters confirmed nobody else was inside.
The fire was determined to have started in the garage and spread to the second story dining room and living room, according to the North County Fire Authority.
The rest of the house sustained major smoke damage.
Neighboring houses on both sides of the residence were starting to catch fire when firefighters arrived and sustained minor smoke and fire damage.
The cause was under investigation as of Saturday.
The residents were making their own arrangement for alternative housing, according to the North County Fire Authority.
