'Hot Prowl' Burglary Suspects Flee Studio City Home

The suspects fled before police arrived, and officers took a burglary report at the scene.

STUDIO CITY, CA — Burglars attempted to take items from a Studio City home while the occupants were still inside the residence, authorities said Saturday.

Officers were dispatched at 8:13 p.m. Friday to a "hot prowl" burglary call at a residence in the 11200 block of Briarcliff Lane, just off Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Fryman Canyon Park, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspects fled before police arrived, and officers took a burglary report at the scene. Police had no suspect descriptions.

No injuries were reported, and it was not immediately clear if any items were taken from the home, according to the LAPD'S Media Relations Division.

A "hot prowl" burglary is a break-in when a suspect enters a home while residents are inside.
