STUDIO CITY, Calif. — Los Angeles police offered a $50,000 reward Friday for information leading to the arrest of a driver who killed a motorcyclist in Studio City and fled the scene without stopping to help.
The crash happened about 7 a.m. Wednesday on Ventura Boulevard at Carpenter Avenue, near Carpenter Community Charter School, police said. The motorcyclist was traveling east on Ventura Boulevard when the driver of a westbound blue 2004 Honda Odyssey tried to turn left onto Carpenter Avenue and struck him, according to police.
The driver continued south on Carpenter Avenue without stopping and later abandoned the minivan, police said. Paramedics took the motorcyclist to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately available.
