Bellacures Aspires to Stay a Cut Above the Rest
A branch of Bellacures nail salon opens in Studio City this week.
With more than 20 nail salons in the Studio City area one may question the need for another. Nails are cut and soaked, cuticles are cut and cleaned, occasionally hands are messaged, nails get painted and you are out the door and on your way.
How much of a difference can a nail salon be? Well, you would be surprised.
For many nail salons, it has become an in-and-out process in order to keep costs down, but sometimes at the cost of comfort and professionalism.

The well-recognized nail salon has opened up its doors in Studio City this week to bring you what many nail salons are lacking. They come, with what the franchise calls, the Five C of cleanliness, care, comfort, communication and consistency.
Cleanliness is what sets Bellacures apart from other nail salons according to founder, Samira Asemanfar, 28, of Calabasas. Bellacures autoclave all of their implements. Autoclave is a sterilization chamber that hospitals and dentists use to sterilize all metal tools. The tools are then packaged in a sterilization pouch.

Before each manicure and pedicure each customer is serviced with a new sterilized pouch of implements, which is open in front of the client for verification of its sterility.
Care and comfort oozes through immediately when walking into the bright and modern-styled nail salon while the soothing hip sounds of Bruno Mars plays in the background. After selecting a nail polish, you are seated at one of the oversized plush chairs which would normally be a perfect place to cozily watch a movie or read a book.
A pedicure begins with your feet soaking in a tub which has a plastic liner that clicks into the tub then is removed and thrown away after every use. Each customer is given a pouch of supplies which they can take with them for future use.
The success of Bellacures is “the quality of service, customer service, comfort and the aesthetic of the salon,” said Asemanfar.
While waiting during the soaking, a manicurist will offer a beverage and check to ensure that everything is relaxed and comfortable, and up to Bellacure standards.
An extensive menu includes their most popular service, the gel manicure, as well as an exfoliating walnut manicure and a callus repair pedicure. A gel manicure is a type of manicure that uses gel to bind the synthetic fingernails to the natural nails. Unlike acrylic nails, the other option for manicures, gel nails are stronger and less likely to chip. Gel can also be applied over natural nails to keep them healthy and long. They are committed to offering services that other nail salons do not, Asemanfar explained.
Bellacures has branched away from the typical in-out stationed nail salon.
“We do parties and events and get involved with the local community to support charity events and fundraisers,” said Asemanfar.
Whether it is a day or just an hour of relaxation, Bellacures is the place to experience what a nail salon should be.
