Brush Fire Off Mulholland Drive Scorches Half An Acre

No evacuations were necessary as crews got the upper hand on a small brush fire in Studio City Friday morning.

STUDIO CITY, CA — Firefighters quickly contained a brush fire along West Mulholland Drive in the Studio City Friday morning. Officials credited for staying on top of brush clearance in the area, which helped contain the blaze to less than half an acre.

The fire broke out shortly after 11 a.m. in the 8100 block of West Mulholland Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Despite difficult accessing the area, ground crews made quick work of the fire. By 11:20, firefighters had stopped the forward progress of the blaze, the fire department reported.

"Thanks to lack of wind and neighborhood compliance with brush clearance regulations, no structures were threatened or damaged," said LAFD Spokesman Brian Humphrey. "There was no need for evacuation."
