Campbell Hall Pitcher Recuperating After Kidney Transplant

Chad Eaton is doing well after receiving a kidney donated by his aunt.

Chad Eaton, the Campbell Hall pitcher who underwent a kidney transplant just after his last game, is resting comfortably in intensive care and could be going home soon.

Eaton was in the intensive care unit of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center after undergoing a kidney transplant last week.

Campbell Hall Coach Juan Velazquez said he had received word from a family member that the surgery had gone well, according to a Los Angeles Times blog.

He ended the Campbell Hall season well, winning 6-4 against Glendale Hoover going 6 2/3 innings, striking out five, walking two. He received an ovation from fans when Coach Juan Velazquez decided to pull him with two out in the seventh.
