Carpenter Holds Elections for Governance Council on Tuesday
Studio City's charter-affiliate school will elect two people to positions all day Tuesday.

Three parents are vying for two positions in the Governance Council for Carpenter Community Charter School in elections held at the school on Tuesday.
Each of the positions are voted on by parents of children in the school and will serve two-year terms in the important school body that is made up of seven staff and seven parents.
The three parents in the election are Lori Jon Caravella, Michellene DeBonis and Lisa Segvich.

Caravella worked for two years as a room parent and volunteered in the Parents for Carpenter Art Program and various other committees.
DeBonis is the parent of a fourth grader and a former Carpenter student who is now in 6th grade at Walter Reed and served this year as Governance Council president.

Segvich is a parent of a first grader and third grader who wants to continue to support the "amazing enrichment programs."

The elections are planned all day on the school campus from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the play yard, and parents must be present to vote. The PTA plans to sell Cougar shirts during the election.
Election results will be announced on Thursday via email and a phone blast.
Thursday is also a specially-scheduled Governance Council meeting to review recommendations of the Strategic Planning Committee for the 2011-2012 school year. The recommendations will be voted upon in the regular Governance Council meeting on June 16 when the new board will be inducted.
All meetings are open and all community members are invited to attend.
