Concerned Stakeholders of Studio City Offer Their Slate

Elections for many people just come and go.  Most feel they *can't make a difference* or *can't find the time* or *simply do not have an interest*.
While I can't speak to all the reasons people don't come out and vote on a larger level, I can speak to the effectiveness of voting on a community level.
We are you're Neighborhood Council.  We were founded under a City Charter established in 1999. We were created to "promote more citizen participation in government and make government more responsive to local needs".

Under that Charter, we act as an "advisory Board on issues of concerns to the neighborhood".  We represent "diverse interests".  That is why we have representation from Business, Employees/Independent Contractors, Service Organizations, Residential Homeowners, Residential Renters and a Youth Board member.  We are all inclusive.  We are an all Volunteer organization.  

We should not be on this Board if our purpose is to make a profit.   Our purpose is to provide the decision-makers information before those decisions are made with what our community wants.  It is also to protect the quality of life that we, as stakeholders of Studio City hold dear to our hearts and why we have chosen to live here.

Currently, I am running on a slate with other engaged Stakeholders,  who want to work for Studio City.  These people are "Concerned Stakeholders of Studio City",  and are willing to work to maintain that level of life, keep businesses and allow for job growth, in order that we can continue to prosper with what we know as *controlled growth*.  There are two other candidates running who are not on this slate, but who, as the current President of this Board,  I know, have worked with,  and have had conversations with about our community and support:  Scott Oulette andJohn Lawler.    

If you enjoy Studio City, please find a moment to VOTE for it.  Please turn out on Thursday, September 20, 2012 @ Walter Reed Middle School, between 2:30 - 8:30pm and support our community.
