Deadlines for California Voters in the 2016 Presidential Elections

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Our long national nightmare that is the 2016 presidential election season is entering the final stretch.

There are just six weeks left until election day and even less time to register to vote or request absentee ballots.

Voter Deadlines for the Nov. 8 Presidential Election

Nov. 8 is the big day, having already registered to vote by the Oct. 24 registration deadline, all that’s left is to find your polling place and cast your vote. Click here to find the neighborhood polling place assigned to you. On election day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In addition to any local races and measures in your city, the statewide ballot is a particularly busy one this year with 17 ballot measures and a competitive race to replace retiring Senator Barbara Boxer.

Attorney General Kamala Harris has held a steady lead in the polls over Loretta Sanchez since the primaries. The winner will be the first new California senator in nearly 25 years.

Overshadowed by the circus of the presidential elections are a series of major statewide ballot measures. Among the 17 measures on the ballot, there are a number of hot-button issues being put to voters including a ban on plastic bags, some of the nation’s tightest gun restrictions, dueling measures to reform or abolish the death penalty and a measure to legalize recreational use of marijuana.
