Both Congressman Brad Sherman and his opponent Congressman Howard Berman spoke before the Executive Board of the organization. The Executive Board, comprised of officers, ex-officio members and representatives from all of the affiliated clubs, voted by over 62% to endorse Sherman.
Congressman Sherman responded, “I am extremely honored to have the support of Democratic grassroots leaders in my re-election campaign. DP/SFV and I have stood together for years, doing the laborious work to elect Democrats from local School Board to President of the United States. DP/SFV is one of the most effective Democratic Party organizations in the nation.”
Polling conducted by his campaign shows Sherman to be extremely popular among Democratic voters, leading Berman by a massive 57% to 27% advantage.
