‘Don't Look Up' Wins Best Original Screenplay At 50th Annual Writers Guild Awards; ‘CODA,' ‘Succession,' More Win Big

"Hacks" and "Mare of Easttown" also won on Sunday.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Hollywood awards season continued Sunday afternoon with the 50th Annual Writers Guild Awards, held virtually, again pointing towards favorites for the Oscars less than a week away.

As film industry fans have grown accustomed to, “CODA” once again stole the show after winning big at the Producers Guild Awards the night prior and at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in late February.

Other notable victors were HBO’s “Succession,” and Netflix’s “Don’t Look Up,” which netted director Adam McKay the award for Best Original Screenplay over “Being the Ricardos,” and “The French Dispatch.”
