As parents, we are concerned about the amount of sexualization our children are exposed to in our culture. Come Sunday to an informative Q&A and find out what you can do to help guide your child through this challenging period of their lives. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City and Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church will be jointly offering the Our Whole Lives (OWL) program to youth in grades 7 through 9 this fall, hosted at UUCSC in Studio City. Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives provides not only facts about anatomy and human development, but helps participants clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality. The course, taught by parents who have undergone extensive training, has been offered for more than 20 years and is completely non-religious. So, come on Sunday and find out how this course can benefit your child.
