Fire Engulfs Studio City Hillside Home

A fire spread from the kitchen into the top floor and attic of a hillside home near Laurel Canyon Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

STUDIO CITY, CA — A kitchen blaze engulfed a Studio City hillside home spreading to several floors before firefighters could knock it down Thursday afternoon.

The blaze was reported shortly after 3 p.m. in the 11200 block of West Dona Isabel Drive between Mulholland Drive and Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

"Forty-six firefighters quickly extinguished a structure fire in a two-story descending hillside home which is believed to have started in the kitchen and spread vertically to the second floor and attic," said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Amy Bastman.

No one was injured in the fire, and investigators are still working to estimate the damage done.
