Fourth Of July Weather Forecast For Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA — Mother Nature appeared poised Friday to deliver several days of warm but eminently tolerable weather through the Fourth of July Holiday.

Of the next five days, Friday will be the warmest, with temperatures generally 2-4 degrees above normal, said National Weather Service meteorologist Dave Bruno. Sunday through July 4, Southland temperatures generally will be 2-4 degrees below normal, he said.

At local beaches, highs should be in the upper 60s, Bruno said, adding that around much of the region, it will be really nice for this time of the year, mild and benign.

A possible exception will be the Antelope Valley, where highs will reach the low 100s Friday and remain in the high 90s over the ensuing four days before reverting to the 100s on Wednesday.

Humidity levels will be average, he said, meaning no significant measure of discomfort for area residents. But the risk of wildfire will still exist, largely because of how dry the vegetation is, Bruno said.

"People will just have to be careful," he said.,

This winter was good in in generating rainfall in the Southland, but spring? -- not so much, Bruno said, noting that this past March, when 3 inches of rain is common, produced only 300th of an inch.

Skies will be partly or mostly cloudy in Los Angeles County over the next seven days but sunny in Orange County, according to an extended forecast.

The NWS forecast highs in Los Angeles County Friday of 68 in Avalon; 74 at LAX; 76 in Long Beach; 80 in Downtown L.A.; 82 in San Gabriel; 83 in Burbank; 86 in Pasadena; 87 on Mount Wilson; 90 in Woodland Hills and Saugus; 102 in Palmdale; and 104 in Lancaster.

Forecast for Orange County were highs of 65 in San Clemente; 67 in Laguna Beach; 70 in Newport Beach; 78 in Anaheim, Irvine and Mission Viejo; 80 in Fullerton; and 81 in Yorba Linda.

L.A. County temperatures will stay at roughly Friday's levels for several days in some areas -- Downtown L.A., for example -- but climb in others starting Monday. Avalon, for example, is forecast to hit 68 Friday, 75 Monday and 84 Thursday.

Orange County will also experience both stable and rising temperatures. Laguna Beach will go from 67 Friday to 72 Thursday while Fullerton moves from 80 degrees Friday to 92 over the sane time span.
