Fundraiser To Help LAPD Officer Whose Sons Died In Crash
Pacific Division LAPD officer Kenneth Baxter's two sons were killed when their car was T-Boned. A fundraising page was created for them.
CARSON, CA — Two of three people killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Carson last weekend were the sons of a 30-year Los Angeles Police Department veteran, and funds were being raised Friday to help their family pay funeral expenses.
The crash occurred about 2:20 a.m. Sunday in the area of Del Amo and Avalon boulevards, said Lt. Luis Trego of the Los Angeles County sheriff's Carson Station.
Christopher Baxter, 26, and Jonathan Baxter, 23 -- the sons of LAPD Officer Kenneth Baxter -- were in a vehicle that was T-boned by another whose driver also died in the crash.

That person's name was not immediately available.
"Jonathan and Christopher were good people, fun people, loving people, and had a passion for the game of basketball," according to their gofundme page. "Their parents are now faced with having to bury their two sons and will need DOUBLE everything as they are making preparations for their funeral services."

Baxter was on his way home from a graveyard shift in the LAPD's Pacific Division when he learned of his sons' deaths, according to a gofundme page set up on the family's behalf.
Baxter and his sons all attended Verbum Dei High School in Watts, Christopher graduating in 2010 and Jonathan in 2012. The officer said his sons were so close that he didn't think one would have wanted to go on without the other.
