A force to be reckoned with, this thrillin' chillin' holiday happening, will blow your mind, lift your spirits, rejuvenate your soul!!!

Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. Luckily Los Angeles residents don’t have to go far for the finest freakiest most frightening holiday fare.

The clever gifted production team headed by master wizard, John Murdy, has put together ten amazing mazes you won’t want to miss. Nobody does it better than the Universal geniuses. Every year is more meticulous than the last, always a step above and beyond.

Each attraction is an individual opus, la piece de la resistance, creativity at it’s peak. The architects/designers combine technical state of the art expertise, imaginative skills, and talented performers, resulting in the epitomy of live interactive theatre! There’s nary a dull moment inside or outside the groundbreaking extravaganzas!

Whether renewing an existing romance or sparking a fresh flame, Halloween Horror Nights is guaranteed to awaken the passion within. It will certainly get the juices flowing and your heart pumping!

I wish I could bottle the vim and vigor, the mojo and magic, the zest and zing, the vivacity and verve, the elan and ebullience presented here and keep it as a daily dose to motivate, stimulate, boost morale, awaken the senses!

It behooves you to drop everything and hurry on down to the happiest place on the planet. Be sure to bring that special someone, i.e. the love of your life you’ve already found or the meaningful liaison you’re seeking.

My favorite novelty this season is the addition of Throwback Thursday’s to correspond with the many 80’s influenced mazes. Guests are encouraged to don retro attire, e.g. leg warmers, wind breakers, neon track suits, high waisted jeans, scrunchie hair ties, fanny packs, and shoulder pads.

You can get your groove on dancing to live music from dynamic 80’s tribute bands. Having worked on the Flashdance film, I was jazzed to revisit this gleeful jovial era. Like totally, you’re invited to time travel in celebration of the decade’s bad to the bone darker side featured in a host of all-new terrifying mazes.

Other high points of Throwback Thursdays include a not-so-friendly welcome from Chucky himself, a DJ dance party hosted by Beetlejuice, classic ‘80s music videos and songs played throughout the venue, as well as themed food that will have you spazzing and saying, "eat my shorts!"

Throwback Thursdays takes place every Thursday night during “Halloween Horror Nights” and is included as part of admission to the event.

The mind blowing mazes are as follows:

“Us,” an all-new trail blazing maze based on the blockbuster film from Universal Pictures and visionary Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele.

“Ghostbusters,” Sony Pictures’ classic 1984 film comes to life in this all-new revolutionary maze.

“Stranger Things,” based on seasons 2 and 3 of Netflix’s critically-acclaimed supernatural thriller.

“Killer Klowns from Outer Space,” the popular 1980s horror sci-fi film lands at “Halloween Horror Nights” in this all-new trend setting maze.

“Creepshow,” a groundbreaking maze modeled on the 1982 cult classic movie directed by George Romero and Shudder’s brand new anthology series, reimagined by lauded make-up artist, director and executive producer, Greg Nicotero.

“Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man,” spawned by Universal’s cutting edge cinematic monsters and the movie studio that invented the horror film genre.

“House of 1000 Corpses,” prompted by Lionsgate’s 2003 cult classic film and directed by multi-platinum recording artist and filmmaker Rob Zombie.

“Holidayz in Hell,” a magical maze featuring demented versions of everyone’s dearest seasonal festivities.

“Curse of Pandora’s Box,” an all-new novel maze based on the twisted Greek mythology tale.

“The Walking Dead,” Universal Studios Hollywood’s permanent attraction based on AMC’s popular television series.

The Jabbawockeez award-winning hip hop dance crew returns by popular demand with an all-new, high-energy show conceived exclusively for “Halloween Horror Nights.”

Adding to the intrigue, “Jurassic World—The Ride,” “Revenge of the Mummy–The Ride,” “Transformers: The Ride-3D” and “The Simpsons Ride” are open for your pleasure and gaiety.

"Halloween Horror Nights" happenings occur on: October 3-6, 10-13, 17-20, 24-27, 31; and November 1-3. Tickets are available at Hollywood.HalloweenHorrorNights.com. Advance purchase is recommended as they do sell out.
