The Environmental Club planted a native plant garden on campus May 3. The garden includes plants that can grow in the dry California climate and do not require much water.
The project has been underway for two years. The garden is situated in the area between the track and the back of Taper gym.
“Everyone had a good time and learned more about native plants, which is our ultimate goal,” co-leader of the club Alexandria Kass ’15 said.
The club has been working with TreePeople on the project, and their TreePeople representative helped plant the garden.
Even though the garden needs little maintenance because the plants are all adapted to drought, members of the club will care for the garden.
