Harvard-Westlake Girls Volleyball Falls to Notre Dame

The girls' volleyball team was defeated by the Notre Dame Knights on Oct. 18th at home in the fifth set of a close game with filled with momentum swings.

The Harvard-Westlake girls’ volleyball team was defeated by the Notre Dame Knights tonight at home in the fifth set of a close game with filled with momentum swings.

The Knights hit the ground running by winning the first set by a score of 13-25 and the second 22-25.

Then things took a turn for the better of the Wolverines as more fanatics, mainly the football team, showed up to the game after practice, sparking a 2 set run (25-21, 25-22) by the Wolverines led by Katie Price ‘12 and Arielle Winfield ’13.

However, the Knights were able to run away with the game in the fifth, clinching their Mission League victory with a final set score of 15-10.

This is the second time the Wolverines have fallen to the Knights season, the first being their Mission League opener. The loss moves them to a 2-3 league record and an overall record of 8-12.

The Wolverines look forward to their next match at the Chaminade Eagles this Thursday.
