If You See Cute Kids Selling Calendars at Ralph's on Saturday, Buy One for Their School

Elementary school kids are selling calendars to help their school.

If you see some irrepressibly cute children approaching you to buy a calendar with their artwork inside, it is $10 for a cause to help the arts program at.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, the students will be hawking their calendar and every single penny goes to the public school, which has enhanced art projects such as quilt-making, woodwork, pottery, guitar, keyboard and much more. 

Principal Susan Kim emphasizes, "We see how important the arts and music are in the full development of our students so they can have a well-rounded education."

The supervised students will be at the in the underground entrance at 10901 Ventura Blvd. in Studio City.

PTA co-president Bonnie George said the students have an additional incentive. For five calendars sold, the students get to be part of an ice cream party, for 10 they get to reach into a jar of quarters and for 20 sold, they get to reach into a jar of dollar bills. The class with the most wins a pizza party, and the student with the most sold wins a pass for four to .

Other incentives during the week include drawings for:

   "No homework for a day" pass

   "Extra recess time" pass

   Lunch with the principal or your favorite teacher

   Free PTA snack certificate

George said, "Community outreach increases our overall visibility which makes Valley View a more recognizable charity for future giving opportunities. If you build it, they will come!"

The calendars have been designed and photographed for the past seven years by mom Rosemary Ryan and is one of the biggest single fundraisers for the school each year.
