Independent Opera Company Presents Rameau's "Pygmalion" and Rachmaninoff's "Aleko"

Two timeless tales of people seeking love in unexpected ways.

Independent Opera Company (IOC) is thrilled to present a double bill of two one act operas: Rameau's "Pygmalion" and Rachmaninoff's "Aleko." Two timeless tales of people seeking love in unexpected ways. An artist falls in love with his own creation and a lonely man, banished from society, falls for a gypsy who refuses to be tamed! Galina Barskaya, music director. Christina Jensen, stage director. Liza Barskaya, choreographer. Both works will be performed in the original languages (French, Russian) with supertitles.

Created in Spring of 2012, Independent Opera Company (IOC) is committed to presenting the highest quality performances at affordable prices. IOC explores a wide range of operas from different styles, periods, and countries. Young and seasoned singers work together in harmony to give audiences a chance to experience the magical and transforming power of opera!
