In-Home Pet Sitting vs. Kennel Boarding

When it comes to boarding our pets we are often faced with the question,”Where do I board Snickers this weekend?” In all honesty, not many pet owners see the significance of having a pet sitter come to their home to watch their pets vs. bringing them to a facility away from home.  In fact, some pet owners feel its easier somehow to just drop their pet off and go. What most people don’t realize, is that when their pet is away from home, they more often than not, return home either sick or out of sorts somehow.  Not many people understand the effects of being away from the environment that they are used to staying at a kennel or boarding facility.

People always ask me what can I offer that a kennel can’t?  I usually tell them, not much.  In fact, there isn’t much I need to do when the pet is in its own home enjoying the comforts of home at home.  I am just there to see that they are enjoying that time at home.  It may not seem like much, but to them its a lot.  Walking around in their own neighborhood, sleeping on their couch or in their own bed, playing in their own yard.

Next time you think about going on vacation and know that you cannot bring your pet with you, take into consideration your pets feelings while you are gone.  You are leaving them.  Why not leave them at home in an environment they are comfortable in?  That is where I come in. ♥
