Carpenter is hosting a special evening with Ira Glass, host of This American Life for a short talk, an audience Q & A and an opportunity to meet Ira during cocktails. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a small gathering with Mr. Glass.
Ira Glass is the creator of the public radio program This American Life. The show is heard each week by over 2.2 million listeners on more than 500 public radio stations, plus another million listeners by podcast. It was the most popular podcast in the country until its spinoff Serial premiered in Fall 2014.

Under Glass’s editorial direction, This American Life has won the highest honors for broadcasting and journalistic excellence, including five Peabody awards. The American Journalism Review declared that the show is “at the vanguard of a journalistic revolution.”
A television adaptation of This American Life ran on the Showtime network for two seasons, winning three Emmys including Outstanding Nonfiction Series. Half a dozen stories from the radio show are in development to become feature films or series. Most will surely never be made. In 2012 Glass produced and co-wrote, with Mike Birbiglia, a feature film, Sleepwalk with Me.
