Is a Performing Arts Summer Camp beneficial to any kid?

Performing arts camps are going to focus on verbal communication, which is an important part of development for any child, but in addition to speaking, kids also need to learn how to express their thoughts, ideas and feelings in other ways. An arts summer camp will help your child explore singing, dancing, and acting. This type of self expression is one of the ways children learn to be themselves and grow as people. Encouraging kids to be expressive and honest will help them have healthy adult relationships.

In addition to performance and self-development, music especially gives kids an advantage in both math and science.  The brain reacts in specialized ways to musical exercises and this type of development is the same type of function one needs to more clearly comprehend mathematical calculations and scientific formulas.  It has also clearly been shown that kids who are regularly studying music score much higher on SAT tests.

At Rising Star, we focus on all these things AND compassionate communication between the cast members and the teachers.  Our program is for children ages 5 - 16.  We have 2 sessions this summer.  Check our web site for details and to register, but hurry, spots are extremely limited and we are already 75% filled!
