Update: LAPD Confirms Officer-Involved Shooting in Studio City
The suspect had fired a gun into the air before being shot by police. The bomb squad was also called to the scene.
An LAPD spokeswoman has confirmed to Patch that there’s been an officer-involved shooting in Studio City, on Ventura Boulevard at Vantage.
A man was firing a gun into the air along Ventura Boulevard in Studio City was fatally shot by police, and a bomb squad was called to investigate at least two packages near the suspect’s body.
The bomb squad robot detonated the suspicious devices.

Ventura Boulevard is closed to traffic between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Laurelgrove Avenue in Studio City. A stretch of Laurel Canyon Road is also closed.
