Los Angeles Area Leaders Overwhelmingly Oppose Senate Bill 469
The legislation requires additional reports to land use projects.
Los Angeles regional elected officials, business and community leaders are calling for Governor Brown to veto Senate Bill 469 (Vargas), a bill that would create another layer of bureaucracy to local governments making it more difficult to bring new jobs and opportunities in communities that need it most.
Community leaders believe this legislation is unnecessary as local governments across the state already have the authority to add more reports to any land use project, and have regularly done so. Because of this increased regulation, SB 469 will make it even more difficult to attract companies willing to invest in California.
