Mail Dripping White Powder Prompts Scare At Eric Idle's Home
A hazardous materials investigation was triggered by a substance mailed to the home of "Monty Python" Actor Eric Idle.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A white powder spilling from mail sent to the home of "Monty Python" actor Eric Idle prompted a scare Monday night.
The white powder prompted a hazardous materials investigation Monday evening at the Hollywood Hills home in the 3100 block of Floye Drive. However, the substance turned out to be only residue from inside the envelope.
"The perception that we have was just it was a little bit of dust that may have come off the envelope, something like that, and someone had the cause to call 911," Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion Chief Jim Holland told reporters at the scene.
