Man Killed In 405 SigAlert Crash
A young man was killed early New Year's Eve when his car rolled over into a ditch, triggering a SigAlert on the 405 Freeway.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — One person died early New Year's Eve and another was injured when their car rolled over and landed in a ditch on the side of the San Diego (405) Freeway in Sherman Oaks. The crash triggered an early morning SigAlert.
The crash happened shortly after 4:30 a.m. just north of Burbank Boulevard near the Sepulveda Basin on the northbound San Diego Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said. It shutdown the number 3 and 4 northbound lanes of the 405.
The wreck killed one person at the scene, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said. He was a young man about 25-years-old, CHP Officer Peter Nicholson said. His name was not released pending notification of relatives.

A second person has been hospitalized l in unknown condition, said Stewart.
Details about the crash were not available. The CHP was investigating.
