My Lunch with Principal Kim

Tara George is a first grader at . The school's PTA is currently selling the , featuring work done by its students. Sales incentives include a drawing to win "Lunch with the Principal or your favorite Teacher," an "Extra Recess" pass, or a "No Homework" for a day pass. You can still buy a calendar this week by going to the school's office. 

“I won lunch with Principal Kim because there was this drawing and they got my name out of the bag so I won lunch with the Principal because I sold all my calendars.

"I was excited and I went to Ms. Kim’s office at the end of lunch to use my lunch pass but it was too late. She asked me what I wanted the next day, and I said that I wanted mac & cheese or Subway or something. The next day I came back to the office and I did not see Ms. Kim so I asked at the desk. The lady said she went to go buy lunch and I was so happy that she remembered. So then I sat down and waited and read a fairy tale book. When she came back we had lunch together. And it was super fun.

"She brought placemats from Subway and I got out the food and laid it out on the desk. Me and Ms. Kim talked about science and the planets. She taught me the order of the planets by using a sentence. My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pies. Except now erase the P because there is no Pluto planet now, so she served us 9 what! That’s so funny. We kind of talked about how hard it would be to live on another planet.

"I also asked why she liked to be a principal. She said the best part was the kids. They’re fun and that is why she wanted to be principal.

"I had a very fun time. And now Ms. Kim is my friend.”
