New Governance Council Named at Carpenter
Saying good-bye to oldtimers and welcoming new leaders.

l named a few new members in the school’s second since the school became an affiliated charter school a year ago.
Parents voted in Lisa Segvich and re-voted in Michellene DeBonis, who served as chairman over the first year. DeBonis was later named vice chairman.
The board chairman for the next year is parent Heather Tonkins, vice chair DeBonis and Segvich as secretary.

“A lot of people voted, it was a good turnout,” said teacher Myron Breitstein who was involved in counting the parent ballots.

“They were both very involved and will be missed,” DeBonis said.
The Governance Council helps make decisions where money will go, and parents, staff or community members can also be part of committees such as: Budget & Finance, Curriculum, Discipline/Character, Elections, Communications & Marketing, Grants, Strategic Planning and Technology.
