Obama Coming Wednesday for LGBT Fundraiser

Road closures are expected on the Westside on Wednesday afternoon. President Obama's visit includes an LGBT fundraiser at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills and a fundraising dinner at home of Glee creator Ryan Murphy.

President Barack Obama will make another fundraising swing to Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon, with his motorcade possibly affecting traffic in Beverly Hills, Westwood, Century City and other Westside neighborhoods.

The president is scheduled attend an LGBT fundraising event at The Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel Wednesday evening.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Glee star Darren Criss will provide musical entertainment at the event. Criss is a last-minute replacement for the previously announced performer, Pink, who canceled last week when she was hospitalized with stomach flu.

The LGBT fundraiser was on La Cienega Boulevard to the Beverly Wilshire when demand for tickets rose after Obama endorsed same-sex marriage in May.

Despite the venue change, the event is sold out. Tickets were priced at $1,250 per person for general admission, $2,500 per person for preferred seating, $10,000 per person for a photo with Obama plus preferred seating, $25,000 per couple for inclusion in the program, photo reception and preferred seating.

After the gala, Obama will attend a fundraising dinner at the home of Glee creator Ryan Murphy. Tickets are selling for $40,000 per couple, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The exact time for these events has not been announced, but previous Obama fundraisers in Los Angeles have been in the late afternoon and early evening.

The White House and Secret Service do not announce motorcade routes. In recent months, the president has been transported via helicopter from LAX to the Veterans Administration Hospital grounds in Westwood. The presidential motorcade sometimes travels east via Sunset Boulevard.

However, given that this event is happening at the Beverly Wilshire, the motorcade may use Wilshire Boulevard instead. Rolling street closures are the norm in Los Angeles while the motorcade travels on city roads.

The President's overnight plans have not been announced. On recent fundraising trips to L.A., Obama has stayed at the Beverly Wilshire and the Beverly Hilton.
