Optimists Club of Studio City Honors 3 Girls Because of Their Essays
The three girls wrote about their accomplishments and hopes.
Three teen girls from Discovery School were awarded honors Tuesday night for essays they wrote for the Optimists Club of Studio City.
The awards were handed out Tuesday night by Richard Niederberg at the Studio City Residents Association meeting.
Beatriz Diaz said she wrote about "examples of ways I have helped out in the community, such as how to keep teens from getting into trouble."

And 16-year-old Crystal De La Mora wrote about what she said was her "positive outlook" and how she benefits the community.
Evelyn Cabral took the Gold Prize of the essays selected by the Optimists Club. Niederberg, who is president of the local club, said the students will go to a district and national level. The club awards the prizes every year.
