Outside In Enrichment wraps PE program at Victory Elem

Outside In Enrichment, Inc. along with their supporters, celebrated the first year of their P.E. program at Victory Elementary in North Hollywood. Michelle Diamond, principal of Victory Elementary, along with Victory’s teachers and a 4th grade class that benefits from the P.E. program greeted Alison Martin, Dyan Conway and Dana Romick, co-founders of Outside In Enrichment, and Outside In Enrichment Board member, Linda Parth. “Many people have worked very hard and have been very generous to make this P.E. program happen at our school.” Mrs. Diamond stated as she introduced Alison Martin to the group. When asked if the children liked the P.E. program, that takes place during the school day with a specialized teacher, all the children enthusiastically answered, “I like running!” “I like soccer!” “I feel better!” “I like having more energy!” Ms. Martin then introduced Ms. Jean Trebek, “Ms. Trebek and the Trebek Family Foundation, along with Superior Foods, Nestle and Raphael Hererra of McDonald’s know that thinking and moving are important to everyone. They embraced our vision and here we are!” The supporters were then presented with a “Thank You” plaque, cards made by the students and a thank you poem. The highlight for the group was watching the actual P.E. class led by Coach Missy Coombes, Outside In Enrichment’s credentialed P.E. teacher. The students proudly showed off their stretching, running and various games. “This was a huge success for us and hope we will be able to continue and expand this program next year. Thank you everyone. You are making a big difference in these children’s lives.” Ms. Diamond said as she closed the celebration. Outside In Enrichment, Inc. is a local nonprofit organization run by three dedicated Studio City moms - Alison Martin, Dyan Conway and Dana Romick. After over a decade of implementing enrichment programs in their own children’s schools, they have decided to help more children with the Los Angeles Unified School District by beginning Outside In Enrichment, Inc. They are currently looking for more supporters and donations to continue to expand their services to ten other schools in the Los Angeles area during the next school year.
