Ping Pong for Exercise!

Alternative method of exercise for non-gym people: ping pong!

Now that summer is coming, it's time to have some fun! However, not everyone is a gym person, nor is everyone a beach person. The best way to get exercise is to do something active in which you are having fun. I personally truly enjoy ping pong.

A serious ping pong player's dream come true! They are a first full time table tennis club. Their hours are 9AM to 11PM every day, including holidays. The cost is $10 per player, with NO time limit! so if you're really into it, two people can spend a fun afternoon having a serious table tennis workout for only twenty bucks. USA Valley Table Tennis Club also boasts three pool tables, dart boards, and Foosball. Table tennis supplies, snacks and drinks are available for rental and purchase. Parking is available in both the front and back. Seniors and children under ten are given a $2.00 discount. The owner, Mary Lieu, is a sweetheart who offers professional lessons for $50 an hour.

Up side: the inside environment is clean and welcoming. Everyone is friendly! Lessons can be procured. Restrooms are available, as are snacks and drinks. You almost never need to wait for a table. The flat rate has no time limit, so if you pay, you can play all day.

Down side: it is a bit of a drive to Vanowen and Reseda. Also, the neighborhood leaves something to be desired. Finally, you really need to be committed to playing ping pong to be willing to pay $10 per person. The price is a bit steep if you only plan on playing a game or two.  To make that ten bucks per person worth it, I recommend budgeting at least an hour.
