Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Suspect In Valley Confrontation
Officers responding to a 911 call involving a screaming woman arrived to find a suspect, who refused to drop his weapon, police said.

VAN NUYS, CA — Los Angeles Police officers shot a knife-wielding suspect in the San Fernando Valley early Monday morning.
It all began with reports of a screaming woman in the 13600 block of Vanowen Street in Van Nuys. Patrol officers responded to the radio call at 4:30 a.m. and were confronted with a man brandishing a knife to LAPD Officer Drake Madison said. The suspect allegedly refused to drop the weapon, and that's when officers fired on him.
There's no word yet on the condition of the man who was shot or on the woman who made the 911 call.
