Rain Fizzles But Easter Storm Coming — Maybe
We told you it would rain Thursday, but we were wrong. Now Forecasters are saying there's a slight chance of rain Sunday night.
LOS ANGELES, CA — What was supposed to be a light smattering of rain in Los Angeles County fizzled away Thursday, as a weak cold front dissipated as it moved into the area, although there is a slight chance of some mountain sprinkles overnight.
Forecasters originally said there was a 30 percent chance of rain beginning early Thursday morning, but that was lowered to 20 percent as the storm weakened, and the possibility of rain dwindled steadily as the day wore on.
By mid-afternoon, the National Weather Service predicted there was only a slight chance of "isolated sprinkles/light showers" that would likely be confined to north-facing slopes.

"Any additional rainfall amounts will only be a couple hundredths (of an inch) at best through tonight," according to the NWS. "Dry conditions will prevail from Friday through Saturday."
Another weather system is expected to move into the area Sunday, bringing clouds and another slight chance of light rain late that night into Monday morning.

A wind advisory will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Friday in the Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys and in Los Angeles County Mountains, excluding the Santa Monica range. Forecasters said winds of 20 to 30 mph are likely in the affected areas, with gusts of up to 45 mph in the valleys and to 50 mph in the mountains.
A warming trend is expected Friday and Saturday "due to rising thicknesses and weak offshore flow," according to the NWS, but temperatures will drop off Sunday as the new system moves in.
