 Support Reed Annual Giving 2011-2012

Severe budget cuts to education require families to directly support our school.  Annual giving allows us to plan for campus technology, capital projects, staffing, enrichment and programs for academy and community needs that cost an average of $500 per student a year.

100% participation is the key to our success.

Contribute what you can.  There are three easy ways to donate:

 1. Return donations to the Period 1 class by Oct. 21, 2011.

2.  Log on to our websites to donate by Credit Card Onetime or Monthly:

              http://www.reedms.com or www.FriendsOfReed.com
3.  Monthly Check contributions may also be left in the Annual Giving

Campaign boxes -Main Office or Rm 106

The Music Department has a great year in store for you and your young musician. To ensure the success of all these events, we need your help. It is only by all of us working as a team that we can give our children the quality music education they deserve. In order to keep everyone informed of upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, we will send regular email updates and notices. Please fill out this form today, so you can be included.  Please indicate all opportunities that you might be able to help.

Meal Applications Help Title One FundsWe Need 100% Participation

Because a large portion of our funding is determined by how many meal applications are returned to us, we ask that even if you do not believe your child will qualify for the meal program, you turn in an application and only check the box at the upper left hand corner.  Include your child's name, DOB, school and grade, and sign and date the application.  You will not need to provide any other type of information.  Inclusion in this program begins with the number of students participating in the free and reduced lunch programs.  Please help Walter Reed Middle School retain its Title I funding by having your child return his/her completed meal application.  All information is strictly confidential and is not held in your child's school record.

If you have any questions, please call the Food Services Division at213-241-3366     Link:

JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

Attention 7th & 8th grade students:  Stop by the Bulletin Board outside the counseling office and see if your name is on the list.  If it is, you are eligible to apply for membership in the National Junior Honor Society.

All current members of the National Junior Honor Society do not have to re-apply as long as membership requirements are maintained.

6th graders will have the same opportunity in the spring.

 - See Counselor, Mrs. Giagni, for details.

Meet the High School Night is Nov 2.

Volunteers please sign up!

We need help coordinating this marvelous event.

Last year we had 45 high schools attend our evening so you could research LAUSD, private, magnate and charter schools

for High School entry.
