The Reel Cowboys 17th Annual Celebrity Silver Spur Awards Gala Planned for Next Month

The awards serve as a benefit for the John Tracy Clinic for the Deaf.

On Friday, September 19, 2014, the Reel Cowboys, a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization preserving and advocating the history and appreciation of Western Film and Television, are honoring cowboys at the 17th Annual Silver Spur Awards Gala at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. Portions of the proceeds benefit the John Tracy Clinic for the Deaf; The largest private provider of services to families with young children with hearing loss (serving more than 25,000 families each year) and the leading diagnostic and education center for them.

William Wellman, John Payne, Ann Robinson, Bob Minor, Stefanie Powers, Ruta Lee, Clayton Moore and Taylor ‘Cactus Mack’ McPeters and more will be honored. Guest appearances include Louis Gossett, Jr., Bo Svenson and Hugh O’Brian and more. Darby Hinton is the Master of Ceremonies. At 6:00 PM, doors open for dinner, performances, awards, photo ops and silent and live auctions.

Established In 1997, The Reel Cowboys Organization comprises over 100 entertainment industry members such as famous actors, directors, producers, stunt and film professionals, who all appreciate the legacy and the future of Western Film and Television. Profits generated by the Silvers Spur Award Galas have provided needed funding to many worthy community charities. As President of the Reel Cowboys and Director/Producer of the Silver Spur Awards, Robert Lanthier shares: “We strive each year to make a difference in the community by honoring those in need and by celebrating Western Film and Television.”
