The plans for a new got a thumbs up from the Studio City Land Use Committee and now faces approval by the entire Studio City Neighborhood Council on Wednesday.

“We plan to be part of the community for a long time,” said Elizabeth Peterson, representing the restaurant. She said they have signed two five-year options at the restaurant at 12050 Ventura Blvd. which is whereused to be.

“There will be no outdoor music on the patio,” assured Rachel Finfer, who also represents Sammy’s. “The outdoor patio will have 11 less seats.”

Sammy’s will also have an upgrade to serve a full line of alcoholic beverages served from 11 a.m. to midnight daily. They also have a May 15 hearing date with the city.

Committee chairperson Lisa Sarkin pointed out that there was only one liquor license planned for that area, and now there are two.

Committee member Richard Neiderberg said, “I do not see any problem with this project. I would rather see this than more vacant storefronts on Ventura Boulevard.”
