Spectrum Internet Outage Spans Southern California

Spectrum customers from Long Beach to Victorville were left without power after a large fiber optics line was cut.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Service was restored Saturday for thousands of Spectrum customers across the Southland after repairs were made to a cut in a large fiber optics line.

The outage affected customers in Los Angeles and surrounding areas for nearly 24 hours.

"Customers in surrounding LA areas - services have been restored," Spectrum tweeted at 2:53 p.m. "If you are encountering any further issues please let us know."

The outage was reported at 3:20 p.m. Friday by Spectrum, the new name for Time Warner Cable after it was purchased by Charter Communications in 2016.

Customers were affected from Long Beach to Victorville, though an exact number was not reported.

Spectrum did not say what caused the damage to the line.
